I still consider myself a newcomer to blogworld. But blogging has enriched my life in so many ways. Although I'm still learning how to blog, I'll share some secrets that were shared with me. This is just a composite of others blogging suggestions that I've found helpful.
If you want followers, it's important to post regularly. I think people will stop coming to see your blog if there is not enough new posts. I like to visit blogs that are uplifting, enlightening and/or informative.
Be yourself
Write in a natural way, as though you were talking to someone. Have music on your blog if you want it. Don't worry about someone else's rules.
If you don't have an impressive home, just show parts of it or vignettes that you've created.
Share a part of yourself, a hobby, a collection, a project or cute picture of your dog or grandchild.
Promote your business, share your faith, spread good news, tell a story, or share a recipe.
Get help when you need it
There are many E-books and courses online about blog-writing and photo-editing.
Use good photos
Take the time to edit your photos. Crop them, increase exposure. There are many free photo-editing sites out there that are user-friendly, Pic Monkey, Paint, Picasa,
My favorite posts that I've done, are just several pictures with a few good sentences between each one. The photos tell the story.
Have Posts in Draft
Write posts ahead of time and you can keep adding as you think of more things to say. Then review and post when you're ready, or it's the appropriate time, like a holiday, special occasion or party you are joining.
Party hardy!
Enter as many parties as you have time for, and follow the proper etiquette of visiting others blogs and leaving thoughtful comments. This is how you get people to visit your blog. Put the party hosts buttons on your blog sidebars with a link. I think I will even make a page of party links as they begin to accumulate.
